Traffic safety aspects
A crash barrier is installed in order to prevent an errent vehicle from colliding with some kind of danger, may it be facing vehicles, constructions such as bridge pillars or rocks and trees or something else next to the road. A cable barrier's flexible properties cause lower levels of violence on occupants of a colliding vehicle, on the other side of the spectra a concrete barrier may act more or less as a wall and stop a vehicle from hitting what ever is behind the barrier.
